On 30 October 2024, Confirel took part in the ‘Promoting Inclusive Business for a Sustainable Future’ workshop, organised by the Clickable Impact consulting agency in conjunction with the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation.
The idea of the workshop was to propose concrete solutions to better include people from poor and low-income backgrounds in the value chain: those at the bottom of the pyramid.
Confirel didn't wait for this workshop to contribute to a more inclusive economy, since Dr Hay Ly Eang's primary objective was to help reduce the poverty gap between urban and rural areas by enhancing traditional agricultural production through innovation.
The objective of Inclusive Business in Cambodia is achievable with greater participation from the private sector, the government and local agencies.
The areas for improvement presented included better funding, tax relief for companies wishing to get involved, and an official recognition label.
Cambodia wants to be a high-income country by 2050. There is still a long way to go, but it is possible, and our Group is already involved.
